Blackthorn Servers presents Blackthorn Nations Season 2
Blackthorn nations is a modded Minecraft server based primarily on create aeronautics, create mod, and Tacz with a plethora of addons. The season will be eight weeks with each week bringing a new era which unlocks content to stagger progression. You will be part of a nation and work together in weekly events to compete with other nations for cash prizes or in game rewards.
20k block diameter custom wrapped world generation with distinct climate zones.
Custom Mods
To streamline the experience we have custom coded ourselves some mods such as:
Blackthorn World Generation
Custom world gen mod which is an imitation of earth’s climate with an equator and two poles spanning 20k blocks in diameter with 3 geographical points of interest. It also has a wrapping feature so instead of a world border you will appear on the other side of the map.
Blackthorn Nations UI
A UI which is tailored for this server. Press tab to open a menu which has all the information you will need to thrive on the server, a guide, a nations list, cosmetics, a world map + claim chunks, announcements, era information.
Sable View Distance
Makes sable sub levels appear in the render distance. This greatly enhances visual fidelity when looking far into the horizon. Also available on CurseForge.

2. Minecraft Server
- No lag machines.
- No extremely efficient farms that cause server lag. Spark can be used to identify how much lag is being caused by an individual farm.
- Build multiple cities and spread your farms around them rather than building one mega-city to mitigate lag.
- If an abandoned physics entity or farm is found, notify the admins so it can be removed to mitigate lag.
- Claims only protect up to 40 blocks below the surface, building under that is at your own risk.
- Secret unclaimed bases are allowed but can be raided at any time.
- No spawn camping just outside someone's claim.
- Civilisations may only claim chunks they have already built in, plus a 2-chunk radius around those builds.
- No pre-claiming areas for future projects.

- Do not ruin the landscape just outside someone else’s claim.
Server Guide
1. Menu Navigation
Press Tab to open the menu, and again to close it. Territory is represented in the map. Charter is your nation and registry lists every nation, journal is your logs and marks.
2. Nations
Either found a nation or request to join one from the registry. A nation can hold up to 10 people, the founder can change the ranks of members within a nation. Players not in a nation cannot claim land or own physics entities.
3. Capital
Craft a charter stone and place it on the natural ground under open sky. It claims 5x5 chunks of land. Your capital can not be broken by others, only by the founder.
4. Claiming Land
Open the map, select claim, and click a chunk next to your land (shift drag to claim lots at once). Claims grow together not in a line, so a new chunk claim requires two sides touching other claimed chunks. You have first 10 chunks free to claim + your capital. Beyond that, you need to place 256 blocks in claimed chunks to unlock 10 more chunk claims. The total amount of chunks claimed is capped by the amount of players you have.
5. Outposts
An outpost beacon can be used within 40 chunks of your other claimed chunks and allows a 3x3 base. An outpost can be destroyed by enemy players.
6. Zone of Control
Every claimed chunk projects a zone 10 chunks around it, anyone can do anything in it other than claim it. You can declare extra 15 chunks more if you want more zone of control. Contested zone of control is grounds for war.
7. Where You Can Claim
Anywhere not within 1000 blocks of 0 0 and not on the yellow band on the map. No surrounding land so no-one else can reach it.
8. Protection
Inside your claims the founder can edit the permissions of ranks within the nation and also outsiders. Drills, cannons, shells cannot break blocks within a claim unless war is active. If someone breaks your base at all somehow report to an admin. Protection only works up to 40 blocks below the surface.
9. Physics Objects
Pulling the physics assembler asks for a name and to use one of your 3 physics entity slots, if a physics entity is destroyed you may get another slot. In your own territory, whilst no-one is online a physics object is locked and can't move however if you are online, be careful as if it isn't protected it could be heisted away.
10. Eras
The season unlocks over time in eras, once a week. Everyone gets the same era at the same time. The countdown to the next era is in the era tab. Anything from a later era cannot be obtained or used. Ores and natural blocks that correspond to late era stuff can be obtained but not used.
11. Announcements
Server News and events appear here. Events can have a cash prize.
12. The Map
You see terrain where you have been, and everything within 20 chunks of your nation's land. Ground nobody has refreshed in your nation for 48 hours turns grey on the map. Terrain only appears on the map when you load it yourself, once you have visited somewhere whenever someone from your nation refreshes it, it refreshes your map as well. Other nations' claims only appear on the ground you have discovered. The nation list names every nation but you have to explore to find their claim.
13. Diplomacy
In the registry tab: propose alliances, rights of way, peace or declare war. Every war declaration needs to be approved by a server admin first. Until it is approved, the target of war is not told. Once it is approved the war becomes public and scheduling will begin. Alliances, rights of way and war shows on the map.
14. War
Claims are protected until a war window is agreed upon which will be within the next week when both sides agree, if the defenders try to get out of it by refusing to agree on a time, they surrender to the terms of the attacker's war. War has to be justified, usually over a land dispute, grievance, stealing a physics object etc. The admin will decide if your justification is worthy of allowing the war. The battleground for war is dependant on context. War over territory for example will be only over the area which outpost or capitals project the claims over said area. Each battle is observed by 1 admin who will determine the winner. The winner gets what is agreed upon in the terms. The winner is determined through a multitude of factors such as land occupied at the end, number of kills or damage done to infrastructure. The weight of each factor is dependant on the objective of war. If a defender wins the admin awards them something at the attackers' expense. You cannot declare another war within 72 hours of declaring one.
15. Radar
Radars are used for information, even when you aren't online. Each player or physics object from another nation is logged when it enters radar range and again when it leaves. With information on time and place logged with the owner's radar. Radar jamming is logged when it starts (with the direction it comes from) and when it stops.
16. Store and Cosmetics
Your colours, emblem, banner, nameplate, stamps, capital decor, registry page and territory banner can be set and customised in the charter tab. There are free cosmetics and paid ones, paid nation cosmetics belong to a nation for its leader to set, and paid player cosmetics are specific to a player. Animated cosmetics are always paid. The bio of a nation gives 50 characters or 250 paid. There are also paid Tacz gun skins of two tiers: recolours and animated. Gun skins are individual to a player. Recolours would cost usually £2-3 per skin and animated skins will vary between £10-20 per skin depending on quality or discounted in a bundle within an animated skin theme. I'm sorry for all this monetisation, however I need to fund the server somehow lol.
17. Staying Active
If no-one in a nation logs on for 7 days all of its land is released. If you are on holiday or something, contact an admin and they will protect your land.
General Advice
- Travelling too quickly into unloaded chunks can cause loss of momentum, disappearing physics entities, crashes, or falling from the sky.
- Chunky is recommended for client-side chunk pre-generation.
- All chunks within the world border are pre-generated server-side.
- Render distance 20 and sim distance 5 for optimal experience.
- Low end pc players not advised for physics entity on physics entity combat.
